Power corrupts--whether in politics or corporatations or the church. But the power wielded in ministry is the most insidious because of an aura of "godliness" that is associated with the one standing in the pulpit. The popular preacher (or seminary president--see www.ruthtucker.net) is almost regarded "above the law." This gives the preacher or priest a significant "predatory" advantage.
